A Morkie is a purebred Maltese and a purebred Yorkshire Terrier. You do not want to adopt a Morkie that has been bred with another Morkie. Why?because you will not get the same high quality of a designer dog.
The breeder must first understand the characteristics of both pure breeds. It is also very important that the breeder picks the Maltese and Yorkshire terrier that have no health issues and a calm temperament.  This being said you will have Morkies that are very trainable and  grow up to be great dogs.
When adopting a Morkie make sure you get a copy of the mom and dad’s pedigree papers for your security of a purebred designer dog.

I would best describe my Morkies as elegant beautiful Maltese like. They have the beautiful multi color coats, like a Yorkshire Terrier, but has the demeanor of the Maltese. They  do not shed like the terriers and have a very calm demeanor, easily trained and socialized, this breed makes a great family pet.
